Specialisation: Central European modern art and the works of František Kupka and Otto Gutfreund.
Museum Kampa, which is five minutes’ walk through the park from our Hotel Kampa Garden*** in the centre of Prague, houses unique – formerly private – collections which were donated to the City of Prague. The museum is based in the renovated building of the cultural monument known as the “Sova Mills”, the history of which dates back all the way to 1394 and the first traces of which even lead back as far as the 10th century. The mainstays of the collection are permanent exhibitions of the works of František Kupka, Otto Gutfreund, Jiří Kolář and an extensive collection of Central European art, complemented by further collections expanding on this spread over several floors of the building. There is also an adjacent park with a romantic view of the Charles Bridge over the River Vltava. Other points of interest are provided by temporary exhibitions which further augment the attractiveness of this museum site. The museum is open every day.
More information about the entrance fee and opening hours as well as the current exhibitions can be found on the official museum website: www.museumkampa.com
